Source: MakFax One Macedonian has been detained and four other injured in an incident that broke out in Lerin (Florina) area today, when the local inhabitants attempted to prevent the Greek Army from holding a military exercise, A1 TV Station reported Monday evening. This morning I would like to make the following statement on physiological torture and intimidation carried out by Bulgarian authorities against members of the United Macedonian Organisation "Ilinden” PIRIN. As you heard yesterday, in 2005 the European Court of Human Rights ruled that the banning of OMO "Ilinden” PIRIN was a violation of the European Convention on Human Rights.

Thank you Mr Moderator. My statement today will focus on the linguistic rights of the Macedonian speaking minority of Greece. One of the basic demands of the Macedonian minority is to have the right to use traditional place names and have their first name and surname in their own language recognized by the state.
