MHRMI Funds Legal Defence for Macedonian Association in Albania Sued by Bulgarian Ultra-Nationalists

The Macedonian Alliance for European Integration (MAEI), the political party defending the rights of Macedonians in Albania, is being sued by a Bulgarian ultra-nationalist organization whose stated goals are the eradication of the Macedonian minority in Albania and the Macedonian nation as a whole.

Macedonian Human Rights Movement International (MHRMI) is funding the legal defence for MAEI in this crucial case affecting the survival of the Macedonian minority in Albania and will also fund MAEI’s countersuit and lawsuits against those who attack the Macedonian minority.

The organization suing MAEI, the so-called “Bulgarian Memory Foundation”, has built a criminal enterprise in its attempts to forcibly assimilate Macedonians in Albania, falsify census results, and participate in illegal activities relating to Bulgarian passports and the issuance of false certificates.

MAEI has repeatedly called for a ban on the illegal activities of the “Bulgarian Memory Foundation” and its attacks on Macedonian rights and it is, for this precise reason, that it is being sued.

The Bulgarian government fully directs and funds these attacks (see background information) while successive Macedonian governments sit idly by.
