World Macedonian Congress - Canada congratulates the Macedonian Human Rights Movement International (MHRMI) on a successful launch of the "OUR NAME IS MACEDONIA" campaign in Skopje, Bitola, Tetovo and soon in additional cities throughout Macedonia along with television and radio commercials, newspaper and online ads.World Macedonian Congress - Canada wants to remind, at a referendum held on September 8th 1991, with a turnout of 75 percent, an overwhelming majority of 95 percent voted in favor of an independent, free and sovereign Macedonia.
The name of the country contains only one word - Macedonia and as such no additions, suffixes or prefixes are allowed. Macedonians worldwide demand unconditional end to the name negotiations and continue to be United Nations member under its constitutional name - Republic of Macedonia.
The admission price to join EU and NATO should not be the Macedonian name and Macedonian identity. This is not acceptable. Macedonia must stop to negotiate its name, identity and DNA.
We are Macedonians, not Greeks, not Serbs, not Bulgarians, not Slavs. Our name is Macedonia.

World Macedonian Congress - Canada purpose is: (1) Protection and affirmation of the Macedonian ethnicity, culture, language, historical and state identity, continuity, heritage, and spiritual and religious beliefs; (2) Promoting and encouraging respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms for Macedonians in all parts of Macedonia and worldwide; (3) Protection and affirmation of the purposes and principles of the United Nations; (4) Promotion of bilateral cooperation between Canada and the Republic of Macedonia for all questions of common interest.
