The Macedonian Association "Ilinden" - Tirana strongly condemns the insulting behavior of Bulgarian member of the European Parliament Andrey Kovatchev, who is also Vice Chair of the European People's Party group in the Parliament, and Spas Tashev in Korca. The Macedonian Association "Ilinden" - Tirana finds as unacceptable the publication and promotion of the book "Bulgarians in Albania" by Spas Tashev, under the logo of the European People's Party, which spreads lies and slanders about the Macedonians in Albania, declaring them to be "Bulgarians". We remind the author that the book uses pictures without copyright, and declares the Macedonian Association "Ilinden" - Tirana as a group that promotes "Macedonianism" in Albania. The Macedonian Association "Ilinden" - Tirana strongly condemns the visit by the Bulgarian member of the European Parliament and EPP Vice Chair Kovatchev to Mala Prespa in his capacity of member of the European Parliament and EPP Vice Chair, where he reported through his social media accounts that he met with the "Bulgarians" of Vrbnik and Mala Prespa. The Macedonian Association "Ilinden" - Tirana again condemns the unacceptable blackmail Sofia imposes on Albania, demanding that the Macedonians living in Albania are declared to be "Bulgarans"! The Macedonian Association "Ilinden" - Tirana reiterates its position that there are no "Bulgarians" living in Albania, and that the Macedonians who live in Albania are not "Bulgarians"! The Macedonians in Albania can't be turned into collateral damage of the Bulgarian blackmail over the Albanian ambitions to join the European Union, especially given the Nazi-Fascist ultimatum from Sofia: a test for Bulgaria to give its approval that Tirana opens its Eu accession talks is that Albania agrees to produce Bulgarians in the regions where Macedonians live! The Macedonian Association "Ilinden" - Tirana condemns the nationalist and chauvinist policy of Sofia toward the Macedonians living in Pirin Macedonia and in all of Bulgaria, and toward the Macedonian people as a whole, rejecting the universal and inalienable right to self-determination and self-identification of the Macedonian people, the Macedonian language and the Macedonian state.
