Respect and recognition for the Macedonian minority in Bulgaria: strong condemnation of the announcements for a possible deregistration of a human rights organization.
The Civic Solidarity Platform (CSP) calls on the Bulgarian government as well as on local and regional authorities to ensure respect and recognition for the Macedonian minority in the country and to prevent any attempt of violation or unduly restriction of the freedom of association, such as the announced deregistration of a minority human rights organization.
Go to mhrmi.org/act-now to instantly send an email to Canadian MPs and the media. DEMAND the resignation of MP Rob Oliphant for his use of an anti-Macedonian slur. And DEMAND the return of our name. Macedonians must be treated as equals and have our human rights defended. OUR NAME IS MACEDONIA.
Addressing the crowd at a Macedonian event in Toronto last month, Liberal Party of Canada MP Rob Oliphant referred to the Republic of Macedonia with the highly derogatory term “North Macedonia” - a term used to negate Macedonia's name, identity and history and which glorifies the recent US-led forced name change on the Republic of Macedonia.
The Macedonian Association "Ilinden" - Tirana strongly condemns the insulting behavior of Bulgarian member of the European Parliament Andrey Kovatchev, who is also Vice Chair of the European People's Party group in the Parliament, and Spas Tashev in Korca. The Macedonian Association "Ilinden" - Tirana finds as unacceptable the publication and promotion of the book "Bulgarians in Albania" by Spas Tashev, under the logo of the European People's Party, which spreads lies and slanders about the Macedonians in Albania, declaring them to be "Bulgarians".
Defying the US/EU and the two main political parties in Macedonia (both blindly follow American orders), Macedonians continue to put up OUR NAME IS MACEDONIA signs and posters across the country condemning the illegal name change and demanding the return of Macedonia's real name. Signs with the racist, Western-imposed “North” terminology are being replaced with MACEDONIA.
...And this is how Macedonian politicians, from both major parties, have always governed the Republic of Macedonia – with no balls. It's painfully obvious that they should have never played the game. You can't win by just playing defence – eventually the other team will score, and they will score a lot. And Macedonian politicians have played the game so poorly, they not only made their own team (the Republic of Macedonia) lose, they've taken all of Macedonia's partitioned territory – and all Macedonians, past, present and future – down with them.
Macedonian Human Rights Movement International is THE organization that funds, organizes and supports human rights projects in defence of our Macedonian name and identity. We will never back down. We stand up to US/EU brutalization of Macedonia. We condemn Western support of our oppressors in their campaigns of cultural genocide against Macedonians. We vehemently defend all parts of Macedonia and Macedonians everywhere.
The Macedonian Association "Ilinden" - Tirana and the Macedonians from Albania strongly condemn the latest provocation from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences which refers to the Macedonian language as a "dialect of the Bulgarian language".
The biggest target of Bulgaria's EU-enabled hate campaign against Macedonians are Macedonian human rights activists. Police officers have, again, begun to visit the homes of activists to interrogate, intimidate and threaten prosecution unless they cease their Macedonian activities. On November 12, 2019, members of the Macedonian Civil Association for the Protection of Fundamental Rights were confronted in their own homes by police and investigators interrogating them about their activities and announcing the initiation of a procedure to rescind the organization's registration – for the sole reason that "Macedonians don't exist".
The European Free Alliance calls on the Bulgarian government as well as on local and regional authorities to ensure respect and recognition for the Macedonian minority in the country. Alleged violations of fundamental rights and rising cases in the use of hate speech and intimidations against this community must be tackled.
