For the first time, ethnic Macedonian children from Mala Prespa, Albania watched a theatrical presentation performed in the Macedonian language. The Theatre for Children and Youth from Skopje, Republic of Macedonia performed the play "Lakomata meca" in front of 100 Macedonian children in the village of Dolna Gorica last weekend.

The event was hosted by the Organisation for the Protection of the Rights of the Macedonians in the Republic of Albania, and the Community of the Macedonians in Albania.

The delegation from the theatre group also donated books, textbooks in the Macedonian language, drinks and 400 pairs of children's sandals to the Macedonians from Mala Prespa.

Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM) Member of Parliament Tito Petkovski was also present at the event, where he was made aware of the day-to-day problems of the Macedonians of Albania. Edmond Temelko, the President of the Macedonian organisation "Prespa” informed Mr. Petkovski and others about continuing problems with the asphalting of the 26 km road towards the border crossing "Stenje" - Pustec (which would greatly reduce travel times from Mala Prespa to the Republic of Macedonia), the funding of Macedonian students from Albania at schools and universities in the Republic of Macedonia, Macedonian citizenship for Macedonians from Albania and about the possibility of free-health care for those ethnic Macedonians from Albania with urgent cases.
