The final hearing in the lawsuit for insult and defamation filed by Macedonian Human Rights Movement International and MHRMI President Bill Nicholov against the foreign minister of the regime in Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, will take place this Friday, September 15, 2023 at 10am, Room 8, Basic Civil Court, Skopje, Macedonia.
We call on Macedonian and international media, human rights organizations, politicians, diplomats and all interested in human rights and the rule of law to attend and report on this important case.
There is a foolish perception amongst politicians, academics and journalists throughout the West and beyond, which has persisted for more than three decades — and that is that Macedonia will one day join the European Union if “such and such” is done beforehand.
Op-ed by MHRMI President Bill Nicholov (with the title US Politicians Don’t Have the Right to Dictate Macedonia’s Future) published in Truthout, an influential US nonprofit news organization — In May, Senator Chris Murphy tapped into the endless flow of U.S. taxpayer dollars to fly to the Western Balkans, with a stop in the Republic of Macedonia to implore (read: threaten) Macedonians to adopt a “simple constitutional amendment” in order to “stay on the path to join the European Union.” But why does a senator from Connecticut care if Macedonia joins the EU? As a member of the interventionist U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, it is Sen. Murphy’s job to ensure that the prospective member-state remains under the West’s control, specifically, U.S. control. But all U.S. politicians, not just those like Murphy specifically tasked to do so, seemingly take an oath to pledge allegiance to U.S. foreign interventionism.
Macedonian Human Rights Movement International President, Bill Nicholov, met with Elizabeth Anderson, Senior Advisor for International Security to Minister of Foreign Affairs Melanie Joly and Mary-Liz Power, Senior Policy Advisor to Foreign Minister Joly and called for Canada to seek the immediate release of Macedonian political prisoners and to denounce the forced Macedonia name change and continued forced revision of Macedonians' identity and history.
Picture the United States as a murderer (it shouldn't be difficult). Uncle Sam murders someone, the evidence is overwhelming, witnesses abound, he confesses, and it's even caught on video. But Uncle Sam won't be tried for murder — he'll be celebrated as a champion of human rights and democracy instead.
This is the USA's interventionist and murderous foreign policy M.O. transparently veiled as "US diplomacy".
Eight years ago, the Macedonian Association "Ilinden" - Tirana was admitted into the Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN), the largest minority organization in Europe. The Macedonian Association "Ilinden" - Tirana would like to extend its sincere gratitude to all the members of the Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN) for their cooperation and understanding of the interests of the Macedonian minority in Albania.
Bulgaria's official state policy continues to be the outright denial of the existence of the Macedonian minority, as well as of Macedonian identity, language, culture and history. It is this denial, along with the EU's full endorsement of Bulgaria's anti-Macedonian campaigns, that has led to a dramatic rise in hatred and human rights violations against Macedonians in Bulgaria.
Watch the video statement from Stojko Stojkov, co-president of OMO Ilinden PIRIN, in which he calls for Macedonians worldwide to unite in defence of Macedonians, suffering under increased Bulgarian efforts to eradicate Macedonians' ethnic identity and human rights.

Macedonian Human Rights Movement International President, Bill Nicholov, met with the Director General of European and Eurasian Affairs for Global Affairs Canada, Andrew Turner, and Deputy Directors of European and Eurasian Affairs, Louise Corbin and Robert Coleman, and called for Canada to seek the immediate release of Macedonian political prisoners, imprisoned for dissenting against the regime and opposing the forced name change into the highly derogatory "North Macedonia".
Nicholov pointed out Canada's long-standing history in condemning regimes worldwide and defending human rights activists and political prisoners. Nicholov called for equal treatment for Macedonians.
We cannot allow countries to be invaded, the killing of innocent civilians, coups of democratically elected governments, and vicious attacks on people’s most basic of human rights — all in the name of a sadistic foreign leader who only cares about his country’s dominance (or revival of dominance) on the world stage.
We cannot allow him to spin the narrative and blatantly lie about something that is so (literally) painfully obvious. Referring to an avoidable tragedy by any other name does not change his culpability in inflicting mounting human suffering.
