According to the Illegal "Prespa Agreement", Macedonians in Aegean Macedonia (Annexed by Greece in 1913) Are Not Permitted to Exist

Watch the following video of the annual Macedonian Ilinden festival in Ovcharani, Aegean Macedonia, where thousands of Macedonians gather every year to celebrate their Macedonian heritage and history. But, as per Article 7(2) of the illegal “Prespa Agreement”, these Macedonians are not permitted to exist as the terms “Macedonia” and “Macedonian” were handed to Greece. Macedonians have endured over a century of persecution by Greece, simply for being Macedonian, and are not permitted to self-identify as such under Greek law. Now, the Western-supported "Prespa Agreement" has validated Greek anti-Macedonian racism.

MHRMI Calls on NATO Member-States to Reject Ratification for Macedonia Under Western-Imposed Name of "North Macedonia"
MHRMI Calls on NATO Member-States to Reject Ratification for Macedonia Under Western-Imposed Name of "North Macedonia"

If NATO was truly interested in "promoting democratic values" and "building trust", they would immediately denounce the forced name and identity change on Macedonia and Macedonians. If they were interested in having Macedonia join NATO for some altruistic dream, they would insist that it be under the name Macedonia. They would further attempt to clarify the supposed "benefits" of NATO membership instead of spewing tag lines about claiming to spread democracy.

Fact Sheet on the Forced Name Change in Macedonia: A Recipe for Cultural Genocide
Fact Sheet on the Forced Name Change in Macedonia: A Recipe for Cultural Genocide

The name change imposed on Macedonia represents an attempt at cultural genocide in the 21st century and cannot be allowed to stand. This is not a “diplomatic dispute” as the Western press quaintly puts it, but a concerted attempt to erase an old and proud people by denying them their most fundamental human rights of self-determination and self-identification; those which the countries of the EU and NATO which are attempting to impose this agreement on Macedonia would not dream of denying to their own citizens. Democratic and progressive forces throughout the world cannot sit idly by and allow this to happen.

"We have been fighting for our existence as Macedonians our whole lives, as did all of our ancestors. Nobody has the right to change our name, ethnicity, identity and history at the stroke of a pen", said Father Nikodim Tsarknias, well-known Macedonian human rights activist from Sobotsko, in the Voden region of Aegean Macedonia (annexed by Greece after Macedonia's partition in 1913).

MHRMI Informs UN Member-States That Macedonia Did NOT Change Its Name, Calls for Urgent Support to Prevent Western-Imposed Name Change

Despite illegitimate Macedonian “Prime Minister” Zoran Zaev's attempts to deceive the international community into believing that Macedonia has changed its name, since the head of state, President Gjorgi Ivanov, did not sign the illegal, imposed name change for the Republic of Macedonia, Macedonia has not changed its name. Article 75 of the Macedonian constitution stipulates that all laws be signed by the President.
